2020
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
2020 is a year of struggle. Everyone's struggles are different and never the same. Some may struggle economically, but then, others may struggle emotionally.
Maybe we have a thought of seeing someone that look physically fine is okay. But, we never know what is inside.
Through the struggle everyone is facing, there is something that we should ponder about before having a bone to pick.
.
How could we still be able to find Allah's blessing in the times of hardship?
.
One of the ways is to be grateful by looking for the good in every situation we are facing.
.
Gratitude is when we are able to reflect on a struggle that we have and view it as a source of reward.
There is a beautiful hadith mentioning about everything that befalls on Muslim is a meant of removing their sins. Even if it is as small as prickled of a thorn.
As a student in 2020, there are a lot of changes that we should cope with throughout the journey of learning. We need to face the challenge of poor internet connection during online class sessions, lack of self-motivation, being apart from family, teachers and friends and being emotionally unstable. Then, truly we are hoping this period of hardship could end soon.
However, that is not in our control.
Only Allah, the One All Knowing who knows what best for us.
.
Hence, let's try this.
When we feel sadness on the things that we could not control, rather than thinking on negative sides, try to turn it into a gratitude to Allah for our ability to still be on the path of seeking knowledge.
Knowing a beautiful hadith that mentions one of the benefits to the people who take a path in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to walk in one of the paths to paradise.
How lucky we are to have been given the opportunity!
When we ponder back, whatever missing in our life is a way that Allah wanted to guide us to get connected back to him, in a way that maybe we would not be able to if we did have that something in life.
Therefore, this type of gratitude can amend the hardest moment in our life into something that brings us joy.
