The knowledge is a means to achieve kindness and God- consciousness.

(Imam Az- Zarnuji)

Humans are created differently from other creations because of their ability to reflect, ponder and learn. Knowledge is a gift from Allah SWT to those who are sincere in his pursuit and to whoever He wishes to give. Through knowledge, a person can raise up their level to become a better person in this worldly life and the hereafter.

The Big Whys to seek knowledge;

• The path to paradise is eased.

When a person has an act of seeking knowledge with the right intention, it is enough for accountability by The Almighty. It does not require a high achievement before attaining the rewards. Indeed, Allah knows when we have a sincere effort to learn.

مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَطْلُبُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا مِنْ طُرُقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ لَتَضَعُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا رِضًا لِطَالِبِ الْعِلْمِ

Whoever takes a path in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to walk in one of the paths to Paradise. Indeed the angels will lower their wings in great pleasure with the one who seeks knowledge.

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

• Their ranks are raised by Allah.

يَرْفَعِ اللَّـهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَاتٍ ۚ وَاللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ

"Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. and Allah is acquainted with what you do"

It is not only the acts that are accountable by Allah SWT, but also the man who holds the responsibility is acknowledge by Him.

• Open the doors of other virtues.

Knowledge can lead us to many other good virtues that are beneficial. For example, the act of fear (in true awe) of Allah SWT. The more a person attains knowledge, the more humble and virtuous they would be.

As a Muslim, our purpose in life is to seek the pleasure of Allah (Mardhotillah). Hence, we should keep working and trying to improve ourselves . There is a verse in the Quran saying that Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.

In a nutshell, everyone has different capacities and opportunities to learn. Instead of every challenge that may come upon the journey, have faith in Allah. Always believe that Allah knows our intentions and efforts. In Sha Allah.

May Allah forgive our shortcomings and bless us with guidance and beneficial knowledge.
